I'm a largely self-taught artist. As a child I was inspired by Japanese cartoons and video game characters (Pokémon, Sailor Moon, Sonic X, and Kirby: Right Back At Ya! were some of my earliest influences). Over the years I devoured many, many, many books titled some variation of "How to Draw Manga." Pictured here are a few of those formative texts. While I'm no longer interested in directly emulating the anime or manga style, I am still inspired by it, and I think my roots still show through in my work. It might be a bit embarrassing at times, but ultimately these books gave me a very solid foundation from which to grow as an artist: they introduced me to composition, anatomy, and techniques I would not have discovered on my own. I'm both grateful for this and proud of how far I've come.

My Future

Drawing is a huge part of my life. While I love storytelling first and foremost, art has always gone hand-in-hand with that. Art helps me visualize and connect with characters and scenes in my head. I would love to illustrate my own stories someday, or makes comics. I also make most of my own game assets.

Below is a small showcase of my digital artwork. For more, you can check out my gallery on Ko-Fi.

Pssst guess what? I do
